How Do I Qualify?
Following IEA rules, there will be no more than 12 riders per class at the Zone Finals and no more than 12 teams at Zone Finals.
Each Region will be guaranteed at least one spot in each class if a rider is available. The remaining or unused spots will be proportionately divided among the regions of the zone based upon the number of members in each region’s class as determined by that Regions’ Regional Final show entries. Specifically, if 40% of the zone’s Varsity Open riders at the Regional Final shows are in Region 5, then Region 5 will receive 40% of the Zone Finals’ unused positions.Where Should I Stay?
The Zone Finals Horse Show will be held on John's Island, South Carolina, just off the mainland of Charleston.
There are no hotels on John's Island; there are resort villas and homes. Hotel rooms have been reserved in Charleston, which is 23 miles from John's Island. Villas have been reserved for those who prefer to stay on the island.RV parking is available on the show grounds. For reservations, call carolsterrett@ridezone4.com. Absolutely, no overnight camping in tents on the showgrounds will be allowed!
Kiawah Island Golf Resort Villas
Book Early! All villas are unique and can be rented with 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms. There will be one bathroom for each bedroom and all villas have a full kitchen. Kiaway is 5 - 10 minutes from the show grounds. The Zone Finals banquet will also be held at Kiawah on Saturday night.
Villa prices range from $179 per night for a one bedroom to $239 per night for a three bedroom. You must order by phone to receive a 10% IEA discount.

Zone 4 Senior Scholarship Essay
Three winners will be chosen from matriculating highschool seniors. Winners will receive $1,500 for 1st place, $1,000 for 2nd place, and $500 for third place. All essays are due March 1st, 2012. No late entries are accepted.

Zone Finals Photo Contest
This photo contest is open to all IEA riders in Zone 4! Here's how it works:
Post your best equestrian pictures on the Zone 4 Facebook page. The deadline for posting is February 15, 2012. All photos will be judged by an independent, professional photographer and results will be announced by March 1, 2012.
The winning photograph will be featured on the Zone 4 Finals program cover. The winning photographer will receive a $100 VISA gift card and complimentary tickets to the Zone Finals banquet!
Zone 4 Annual Sportsmanship Award
The annual Zone 4 Sportsmanship Award will be presented to a member that exemplifies the following criteria:
- Active equestrian participant
- Scholastic and extracurricular involvement
- Characteristics that exemplify good sportsmanship and positive peer role model
